Glass twisting machinery
The glass twisting machines from Volkmann are effectively special ring twisting machines for twisting glass
filament yarns.
The yarn count range for this machine is between single 550 dtex and 3440 dtex.
The spindle speed is fully variable and can be adjusted between 1,500 and 8,000 rpm. A typical machine size
is 90 spindles and is available in 254 or 280mm gauge
The TPM (turns per metre) is up to 250.
Speed is determined by carrying out trials with your glass filament on the glass twister itself in the
Volkmann showroom and laboratory in Krefeld which is 30 minutes from Düsseldorf.
Typical uses for this type of twisted glass yarn are the manufacture of PCBs, Printed Circuit Boards
and other high tech products.
